Years into her pilgrimage, Shanna and her cousin go “Down the Road” and connect with their roots, literally beneath them as they visit the cemeteries that their ancestors rest in.
This visit lead to more questions about this land that seems to be cursed with centuries of hardships. Shanna also shares the fear of her Mom and family in the path of Hurricane Ida.
The picture below is in Davant at the site of where the first creole school was, what was left after Katrina came through was the shown statue of Saint Martin de Porres and a cemetery rest behind this unearthed massive tree damage from the hurricane.

White Privilege
Shanna explains how this journey changed her life and perception over the past years, what she learned about ancestry healing and how this work is timeless and how it effects epigenetics, healing past, present and future generations. She shares the hard facts of what she’s faced and learned about systemic racism, and how she herself is proof that white privilege is indeed a thing.
